Making an Impact: CAHEC at Work / July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019

Message from the President

Dana S. Boole
President & CEO

What inspires you? Is it the people with whom you interact, the products/services you provide, or the community service you perform? It should be a simple answer, but for so many people the words are hard to express. Regardless of what drives you, it’s imperative that passion, intrigue, and the willingness to go above and beyond, are elements in identifying your motivation.

For CAHEC, our vision is our inspiration. CAHEC envisions sustainable communities, offering housing and life-changing opportunities to their residents. Whether it be our first low income housing tax credit fund in 1992 or today’s offering of equity and debt products; our vision remains clear and resolute. We strategically seek initiatives that align with our vision, further our competitive advantage, and positively impact our stakeholders. To that end, I firmly believe that “today our focus is syndication and tomorrow it is community investment.” While some may feel these are one in the same, diversification – both depth and breadth – is critical to furthering the needs of the customers and communities who motivate us.

Like many organizations, CAHEC’s success is driven by the medium which make our efforts possible. That said, the low income housing and new market tax credit have an unprecedented opportunity to expand and strengthen their position as premier Federal housing and community investment programs. As bipartisan support grows in the House and Senate, we must continue to educate Congressional leaders on the impact of our work for those we serve. Only then will we have a chance to strengthen the foundation of a program which has proven its worth for over 30 years.

As you review this report, what resonates should be more than its words and charts. I’m hoping it inspires you!

Sincerely,
